Rhythm Walk & Community Gathering: Stories, Connection, and Movement at the Sakura Project
A Space to Come Together
🎥 Robert Challenges Gina: Bachata Rhythm Walk
In our latest Rhythm Walk moment, Robert challenges Gina to step into something new — a Bachata Rhythm Walk.
This playful exchange continues a growing series. In a previous video, Gina challenged Robert to learn Hip Hop. This time, it’s Robert’s turn.
What unfolds is simple, real, and a little outside the comfort zone — a reminder that rhythm can begin with just a step.
🌸 The Sakura Project
This spring, under the cherry blossoms, we’re creating something simple—but meaningful.
As part of the Sakura Project Gathering, danceScape invites you to an informal community gathering centered around:
- Sharing stories of loved ones
- Connecting with others in the community
- Exploring ideas and collaborations
- Inspiring one another through real experiences
This is not a formal event.
It’s a space to come as you are.

🚶♀️ A Possible Rhythm Walk Experience
If the moment feels right and enough people are interested, we may gently introduce a Rhythm Walk experience during the gathering.
Qigong/TaiChi Flow x Rumba Rhythm
A simple, optional way to:
- Ease into movement
- Reset and breathe
- Connect through rhythm
There’s no expectation to participate—just join if it feels natural.
🌱 Planting Seeds for What’s Next
This gathering is also an opportunity to:
- Connect with those interested in community initiatives
- Meet potential collaborators and partners
- Invite volunteers for future, more structured events
- Help shape what Rise Through Rhythm becomes
We’re building this together.
💛 Community-Supported Movement (What Comes Next)
Following this gathering, danceScape will begin hosting Rhythm Walk Pop-Ups across Burlington, Hamilton, and beyond.
These will be:
- Community-supported — contribute what you can
- 100% directed to the danceScape Endowment Fund, a permanent endowed fund stewarded by the Burlington Community Foundation.
Every contribution goes forward — supporting accessible programs in our community.
🌿 Rise Through Rhythm
This gathering also supports new initiatives such as Rise Through Rhythm, where children and youth come to:
- move
- express themselves
- build confidence
- connect with others
- develop leadership skills
Because sometimes, we all need
- To be heard
- To feel seen
- To move forward
Through music, movement, and shared experience.
🎧 Rhythm Talks Podcasts: Stories That Matter
From these gatherings, we are also planning to launch:
Rhythm Talks Podcasts — a danceScape & Rise Through Rhythm community podcast
A space to share:
- Stories of loved ones
- Personal journeys
- Challenges and breakthroughs
- Voices that deserve to be heard
If you have a meaningful story to share, we welcome you.
