danceFLOW Qigong/Tai Chi Workshop with Hamilton Chinese Association

danceScape was pleased to collaborate with the Hamilton Chinese Association in presenting a Qigong/Tai Chi workshop on Sunday, April 6 at the Efit Institute in Hamilton.

The session introduced participants to gentle breathing and movement practices rooted in traditional Chinese wellness traditions. Drawing from danceScape’s danceFLOW Qigong/Tai Chi program, the workshop combined seated and standing exercises designed to improve balance, mobility, and stress management while encouraging a calm, focused state of mind.

Qigong is an ancient practice connected to traditional Chinese medicine, emphasizing slow, mindful movement and rhythmic breathing to cultivate and circulate qi, or life energy, throughout the body. Participants explored simple techniques that support physical health while nurturing mental clarity and inner balance.

Beyond the workshop itself, the event represented a meaningful collaboration between community organizations that value culture, health, and lifelong learning. A portion of the proceeds from the workshop was donated by danceScape to the Hamilton Chinese Association, helping support their continued efforts to promote and celebrate Chinese cultural traditions throughout the Hamilton region.
