For all of the b-boys and b-girls out there, practicing long hours a day to learn challenging scrambling combinations, freezes and power moves is not an easy task, especially if your body is feeling beat. Breakdancing Inspirations have arrived, helping you turn impossible into possible. Learn how some Breakdancers are improving their skills when their body needs a break.

On Improving Your Skill
The first lesson is to never give up! Keep practicing, and keep learning about your body as best, and often, as you can! For many b-boys and b-girls the skill improves when you practice to the point of becoming extremely familiar with your body and technique. This means learning about your body's balance in various positions and understanding how your muscles and joints work together to create your technique, power and flow.
On Understanding Your Body
A great way is to listen to your body while you move try to figure out things like: what part of your body needs to adjust itself to let you freeze/balance/pop, or how you should realign your body to make a scramble set work. Pay attention to how to get your momentum to work to your advantage and if you are trying out a new move, work out the basics first and worry about speed later. So, as you continue to practice, keep these things in mind.

Another important step to understanding your body involves letting your hardworking body rest when it needs it!
On Improving Your Skill When Your Body Needs a Break
Many Breakers are turning towards books on their breaks. Reading books about the body and the mind has helped many breakdancers improve their talents. Books about the mind or mental imagery can teach your body how to remain focused and positive about making those impossible moves, possible. Mental imaging books aid in the development of mental and physical control, which helps breakdancers learn new moves and gain control when dancing infront of new audiences or spaces. Other Breakers are using imagery books to help them grasp the belief and philosophy that: “Your Body Can Do Anything, It’s Just a Matter of Finding Out How.”
Reading about how the body, muscles, joints and the mind work together has also helped many Breakdancers, like T-Roy from ABS Crew in Toronto, figure out new moves and improve old ones. See it for yourself and watch him strut his stuff as a B-boy on the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Team!
Another reason why Breakdancers are turning towards learning about the body from books is because they can carry it with them while they are on the road traveling or waiting for a Break Session or Class to begin.
