Congratulations, Andy, on the upcoming tracks included in ABC's "Dancing With The Stars". Which of your tracks should we keep our ears open for when watching the show?
ABC is interested in using one of my Paso Doble's “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” and my Cha Cha “ Dance With Me”. They are also interested in some music that I had featured on ESPN which is basically instrumental music that they would use as background. We have been negotiating twenty other pieces of music throughout the series. “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” may be used for one of the routines, but I will not know where they use my music until the series airs.
How will the music differ from the previous versions of the show?
I have seen the Italian version and English version of the show before. The Italian version used a live band and I did not recognize whether the music on that show was popular music in Italy at the time. They had a band and from what I understand from the people who I have been speaking to in “Dancing With The Stars”, they may also be using a live band for the presentations. The recorded music would be used for portraying the students and teachers as they work on their routine, which is essentially how the Italian version worked, but until we see the ABC version, the format and the placement of the music within the series could change.
In “Dancing With The Stars” , who do you think will be the most interesting couple to watch dance?
Well, it will be interesting to watch all of the big stars, like Evander Hollyfield, Rachel Hunter - they are both pretty popular. But I think that Louis Van Amstel will be a favourite, especially because his dancing partner, Trista Sutter has a background in dance.
